Three-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies
Crispy around the edges, soft in the center, and packed with rich nutty flavor, three-ingredient peanut butter cookies are a quick-fix classic.

People treat baking like high-stakes chemistry, where measuring flour off by half a gram will somehow blow up your kitchen. But these are three-ingredient peanut butter cookies. It is genuinely not that deep.
You do not need flour, butter, or a pastry degree. You literally just need a jar of peanut butter, a cup of sugar, and one egg.
Dump them into a bowl, stir for thirty seconds, and roll the dough into balls. Stamp them with a fork to give them that classic crisscross look, or do not. The oven does not care about your aesthetics. Ten minutes later, you have warm, chewy cookies, and you didn’t even have to put on real pants to get them.
Because the recipe is absurdly simple, it is also hard to mess up. Throw in chocolate chips, push a Hershey Kiss into the middle the second they come out, or sprinkle flaky sea salt on top to trick people into thinking you are a pastry chef.
It takes one bowl, fifteen minutes total, and leaves almost no dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup granulated or brown sugar
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix: In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, and egg. Stir thoroughly until a smooth, cohesive dough forms.
- Shape: Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
- Criss-Cross: Gently press each dough ball down with the back of a fork, then press again from the crosswise direction to create a classic grid pattern.
- Bake: Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes until the edges are golden and set.
- Optional Toppings: Immediately out of the oven, press a single chocolate drop in the middle or sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
- Cool: Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes to firm up before moving them to a wire rack.
