Chewy Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Golden edges, soft chewy centers, and rich nutty depth from browned butter.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter (browned and cooled slightly)
- 3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Granulated White Sugar
- 1 Large Egg + 1 Egg Yolk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 1/2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks
Instructions
- Brown Butter: Melt butter over medium heat, swirling until golden brown and nutty-smelling (~5 mins). Cool for 10 mins.
- Mix Wet & Dry: Whisk browned butter with sugars, egg, yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chunks.
- Bake: Chill dough for 30 mins. Scoop 2-tbsp balls onto a parchment-lined tray and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
